Psychological Counseling
When you feel that something needs to change, but you’re
not quite sure how

Sometimes, there is no single reason why things feel difficult. You may feel stressed, overwhelmed or exhausted. Perhaps you find it difficult to understand your own feelings and needs. Or you notice that certain patterns keep repeating themselves and would like to find a different way forward.

Psychological counselling can help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings, better understand your own needs, and explore new ways of responding to life’s challenges. You don’t need to be at a breaking point or have a mental health condition to seek support.

In my psychological counseling practice, I support people dealing with personal and professional challenges, questions around self-understanding and relationships, and periods of life when they are looking for clarity, direction or change.

My approach is systemic, evidence-informed and collaborative. Rather than focusing only on what is troubling you right now, we also explore the wider context: your personal experiences, relationships, physical experiences, current life circumstances and the expectations placed on you by others.

What can psychological counseling help with?

Psychological counseling can address a wide range of concerns. Sometimes, it is about navigating a specific situation. At other times, it is about gaining a deeper understanding of yourself. And sometimes, you simply need a confidential space to talk about things that are difficult to put into words in everyday life.

Together, we can explore topics such as:

  • Stress, overwhelm and the feeling of constantly having to keep going

  • Exhaustion and difficulties making time for rest or setting boundaries

  • Repetitive thought patterns, inner tension and self-doubt

  • Difficulties recognising, understanding or expressing your own feelings and needs

  • Questions around self-esteem, self-understanding and personal growth

  • Challenges related to work, university or other areas of life

  • Difficult decisions and periods of transition

  • Recurring patterns in the way you relate to yourself or others

  • The relationship between psychological and physical experiences

  • Questions around relationships, intimacy, communication and sexuality

The aim is not for me to tell you what you should do. Instead, we work together to understand what may lie behind certain patterns, what purpose they might have served in the past, and what changes could feel right for you today.

My areas of focus

Alongside general psychological counselling, I have particular experience and professional interests in the following areas.

How I work

My approach is systemic. This means that we look at your current situation in the context of your relationships, experiences, personal circumstances, and resources, rather than viewing it in isolation.

A particular behavior or emotional difficulty does not automatically mean that something is “wrong” with you. Patterns often develop for understandable reasons, even if they are no longer helpful in your life today. By exploring how these patterns emerged and what keeps them going, we can open up new perspectives and possibilities for change.

My approach is compassionate, confidential, and collaborative. You decide what you want to talk about, what pace feels right for you, and which steps you would like to take.

I also believe it is important not to view psychological distress solely as an individual issue. Social, cultural, and interpersonal conditions can significantly shape how we experience ourselves and the options available to us. My work is therefore intersectional, attentive to discrimination and power dynamics, and LGBTQIA+ affirmative.

Who can benefit from psychological counseling?

Psychological counseling may be helpful if you are looking for support but are unsure whether psychotherapy is what you need.

You are welcome to bring a specific concern or simply a feeling that something in your life needs attention.

Perhaps you find yourself thinking:

“I don’t want things to continue the way they are, but I’m not yet sure what needs to change.”

Even if you have already spent a lot of time reflecting on yourself, it can be helpful to explore your thoughts, feelings, and recurring patterns with a trained professional who can offer an independent perspective.

If you are unsure whether psychological counselling is right for you, we can discuss this together during a free initial consultation.

Psychological counseling in Berlin and online

I offer psychological counseling primarily online, in both English and German. In-person sessions in Berlin may also be possible by arrangement, depending on availability.

Counseling is a voluntary, confidential service offered on a self-pay basis. It is not a substitute for medical care or psychotherapy when these are needed.

Book a free initial consultation

During a free 20-minute initial consultation, we can get to know each other, briefly discuss what brings you to counselling, and explore whether my approach and services are a good fit for you.
